Do you really need to exercise to lose weight?

It is very frustrating to crush you in the gym day after day so you do not see results when you try to lose weight. Many research indicates that eating habits are more important when it comes to weight loss (and maintaining weight loss for longer), but the latest study from the University of Saint Louis challenges this theory.

People who lost weight by doing only cardio or a mixture of cardio and weights lost the same amount of weight (7 percent of their body weight for four months) than those who went on a diet alone. Most importantly, the first two groups lost more fat and kept more muscle (which helps burn more calories at rest, gives energy and prevents injuries). So, whenever you are on a diet try to walk, run or ride a bike (at least, as they did in this study, about four hours a week).
