Why walking 15 minutes a day can change your body

Little remains to be said about the benefits of physical exercise. The lesson we know by heart: we must do sport regularly, for health and for physical and emotional well-being. But often the obligations and contingencies of everyday life just boycotting your session of spinning or your yoga class. If so, do not despair, it is not all lost. You will always have to wear a comfortable shoe and walk out.

The good news is that it has been discovered that this habit, as simple as putting one foot in front of the other consecutively, could serve to slow down the aging process. According to a study by the European Society of Cardiology, in which 69 people between 30 and 60 years participated, those who did moderate exercise like walking or jogging "trotting" experienced antiaging benefits.

Advantages of walking

But why walk and not run? A Harvard study says that the benefits of walking, as with other forms of moderate exercise, are basically those that lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. Put another way, it helps prevent cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and improves stress levels.

And the list of advantages of walking does not end there. A study carried out by Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention concluded that women walking at least seven hours per week were 14% less likely to develop breast cancer. And for men there is also good news. Another study showed that those who had prostate cancer and walked at least three hours a week could reduce the risk of it reappearing.

How to walk more

If you have arrived here you will want to go out and get going. Before you get comfortable shoes, preferably you have tried before so be sure that you do not rub your feet. Find a land that matches your expectations. If you want greater intensity of exercise, you can consider walking uphill or downhill. If you just want to walk, start with a level ground.

If your problem is that it is difficult for you to find the moment or you do not know well which way to go, here are some tricks to include a walk in your day to day:

Instead of going by public or private transport, walk to work  or back home.If the distance does not allow you to walk and you have to go by public transport, get  off one or two stops before arriving.
